Just purchase a 2002 boat with twin Yamaha 200's. When the motors are tilted-up for storage the left side of each motor ( I think) leaks oil out through the motor cover and onto the boat. It leaks about a 1/4 cup per week. Any ideas as to cause and cure? Thx.

Re: Yamaha 200's leak oil

hello
usually its a bad seal at the oil level sender in the engine tank. sometimes we can cure it by cleaning the tank sometime by using a wire tie on the od of the sender. if you remove the sender/screen assy it must be correctly oriented on reinstallation or it will not work right. the other part is the seal at the filter nipple. if you remove the filter you MUST insure the seal is removed as well. always use a new seal on reassembly.
good luck and keep posting

Check oil tank on top of motor make sure oil feed lines or nipple on tank is not split or broken this is common on V6 model because hose fitment is in a tight space hose end is known to break or leak only when motor is tilted
