Yamaha 225TXRS (saltwater series)

Hi guys can you tell me what year is my outboard? Is it normal in this engine for the buzzer not to come on or for me not to hear it when I turn the key. The oil injection still working what you guys recommend eliminate it or leave it?
I almost forget what kind of repair service manual you guys recommend.

No, there is no buzzer when the ignition is turned on. I don't know why you would want to bypass one of the best oil injection systems in the business.

How I know is the buzzer is working?

I don't want to bypass the oil injection system I'm asking because I read about most of the peoples have problems with that system and is my first outboard.

ok, three things....it's a 1994 model year....very old for any outboard in saltwater(even Yamaha), it is as rick said, the best oil injection made with far less problems than merc's trash, and if by buzzer you mean the alarms for oil and temp...for oil i would get a kit to replace gasket on oil tank, pull sender with ignition on and engine running....you should get alarm when float drops. Do you have Yamaha digital gauges?

Yes I have digital Yamaha gauges.

find the temp sensors on top of the heads
pull the wire apart at the bullet
turn the key on and touch that wire to block
alarm will sound
