I have a 2003 25hp 4 stroke, it idles fine, runs at very slow speed with no problem, but when I gradually give it more gas from very slow it stalls. If I gun it real fast, it "jumps" over the stall and runs fine all the way to wide open. No stalling at higher speeds and no loss in performance. I was using a 6 gal plastic gas tank, the vent was open, used fresh gas with stabilizer, and I have a water seperator (filter changed April 09'). Three possibilities, I did have my vent open during some heavy rain and perhaps there's water in the fuel (excessive amount for the filter?), the pump bulb seems to lose its prime and not "stay hard", so perhaps an air leak in the fuel line or the tank and finally maybe my carbs need to be cleaned. I've always use stabilizer and have changed my filters annually and never had a problem like this before. Any suggestions before I take her in to my local mechanic?
