yamaha 250 hpdi, starboard motor erratic..

last sat. on the way in from fishing trip, i notice my starboard motor has erratic motion and loose rpm. everytime it's too bumpy then the motor bounced as if it hits something on the bottom and loose rpm momentarily(from 4100 to around 2800). any ideas???
any input will be appreciated. thanks!!!!!!!

OK, what you may be experiencing isn't the motor striking the bottom, its the motor kicking up when the power cuts(flow of water hitting skeg) maybe
an inch against trim pump pressure, then slamming back into boat transom when power cuts right back in, blink of an eye,right? You may have a loose
connection on batts. or on motor(grounds) and it's causing this motor(hpdi) to cut out like that....have seen it happen like that with fuel starvation, but
also with low voltage....this motor very very sensetive to low voltage.
