Re: Yamaha 250 Salt Water Series

with the key on check for 12V between the brown wire at the pump connector and engine ground.
if 12V is present check continuity between the blue pump wire connector and engine ground with the manual switch toggled.
the brown wire at the transfer pump is always hot with key on and the circuit path to ground is made by either toggling the manual overide or the ECU.
so you may have a failed ground path or a failed 12V + source.
check all remote oil tank connectors. there is a splice in the main 10 pin harness about 6" aft of the engine side connector where the yellow 12V key on power is spliced to the brown pump transfer key on 12V.
automatic transfer is inhibited if SWB is open in the remote tank or the engine is not running however manual will work with the key on if the switch, wire connectors and pump are ok.
you already know the pump can run now go find which wire is not making contact.

Re: Yamaha 250 Salt Water Series

swb is the normally closed switch in the remote tank that tells the ECU and the opererator there is enough oil for automatic transfer.
when this switch opens and removes the ground potential then the yellow lamp on the tach illuminates and automatic transfer is inhibited but manual will still work.
its about the only yamaha function that doesnt use a path to ground for a function.
