where is the poppit valve located, what does it do, should i change it thank you

its located on the exhaust cover low on the stbd side.
yes trhey require periodic maint.
remove the valve and grommet.
carefully clean the pocket and install a new grommet .
dont push the grommet into the water cavity and if you do use a bent wire to fish it out.
