I always keep my 2hp Yamaha on my tin boat just in case the main motor fails or is damaged.
this year when i was awakening all my motors from the winter sleep, the only one that would not start was my Yamaha.
I replaced the Spark Plug still no spark, checked all the grounds, all clean and well grounded. I tried to take the flywheel off but was unsuccessful. i tried a couple methods to get it off, hammer and pry-bars [wood block on crankshaft and light pressure on the flywheel] i use that method many times with a 99% success rate, made a flywheel puller out of steel and 1/4 center bolt with the flywheel bolts but was concerned about damaging the crankshaft with that much force on top. I let is soak with PB Blaster a couple days to see if any corrosion built up [before applied no visual corrosion was seen]. I don't know if its a coil, magneto, etc. that's causing the problem?
if anyone knows a better way to pull the flywheel or knows what might be causing the problem please let me know.
it's either a 86 or 87 Yamaha 2HP [model #: 2HS], NGK BR5HS Spark plug, 100:1 gas/oil ratio,
