Re: Yamaha 30 11.25P 5425 RPM

On my 14' Lonestar (25 hrose Johnson), I found that aluminum prop blades will actually flex when your taking off, which reduces some hole shot. My top end was not much better, but they were both the same size prop.
I would try 9-1/2x13 or 10x12 stainless. .

exactly what I was wondering - if the holeshot blade flexing is main reason for SS, I think I will try a 13P aluminum first- reduction in hole shot would actually be a plus- I'm currently on plane in about 1 to 1.25 seconds (with the 11P it's like a drag boat off the line and actually kind of scary with my slippery painted bench seat)
Keeping the 11P for waterskiing.

you should leave it alone 5400 is good rpm for that motor you dont want to lug it down you can have premature engine failure

follow up
I changed to a 9 7/8 X 12P alum miwheel... much better. My WOT is now 5200 which seems to be where this engine just completely runs out of torque. from 5200-5500 all it does is vibrate and get louder.
My holeshot is still scary - no noticeable difference.
