Hello all,
I just bought a boat which has a Kerosene 40 hp Yamaha Motor on the back. THe tank was set up to start the motor off of Gasoline and once at higher rpms it pulls the kerosene. THe guy I bought it from said he just ran a 40:1 fuel in both tanks.

When I bought it, it starts RIGHT up, idles okay however when I go to open it up the motor has a real bad hesitation before the engine speed starts to climb. (does it in N as well as in Forward) I tried running it with Kerosene as it is built for an it did not run any better! Any ideas?

- changed plugs
- Ran a carb foam cleaner
- currently have Seafoam in the tank (only ran a little gas through it)

HELP! :)

Model # E40GK

I have not struck this motor but I imagine that it would have to be thoroughly warmed up before cranking it up to kero speed.

It is for sure fully warmed up. Engine temps make no difference. Its almost like it is being flooded out as I 'punch it'

Its an odd beast!

try setting your throttle cam pickup as close as you can get it without touching and retry.
