Yamaha 40 hp

Hey, I got a Yamaha 40 hp that runs fine at idle and when you accelerate it runs rough and a solid beep sounds.

Sounds like the motor is overheating or the oil pressure is low. The beeping is the warning alarm. Check the oil on the motor and make sure your water pump is working correctly. Are you getting a steady stream of water out of the pee hole out of the back of the motor? Sometimes they clog up. How old is the engine? It may be time for a new impeller
