We have a 1996 Yamaha 40 hp outboard motor. It suddenly has started starting itself. If it dies when you pull it back into neutral it will start without touching the key. If it dies and is still in gear it will make a clicking noise. It sounds like the starter is still running even when the motor is not started. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong with it?
