I have a 1993 Yamaha 40 with a bad lower unit. I bought boat and motor from a guy for a really good price. The compression in the 2 cylinders is good and the motor runs. The lower unit is frozen and the drive shaft sheared where it connects to the motor.
The motor info is as follows:
model # C40ELRQ
code # 6E9 L
Somone told me that this lower unit is compatible with some other years and models of motors. Anyone have any ideas exactly which years and brands this is compatible with? Or any particular direction i should look.
