Yamaha 40ert no power

I am not knowledged on boats, but trying to help husband with dead moter. 2 stoke Yamaha 40ert. moved house, disconnected motor from boat. want to go fishing, hook motor back up, new fuel, battery shows 12.67 volt charge. new steering cable(old froze), new plugs. turn switch to start- nothing, no noise, juice none it seems. Husband remembers disconnecting 2 wires. we have no wiring diagram, 1 red wire laying unattached when take cover off- any ideas what this goes to? manual says there are 2 ground wires, but does not show where. Husband thinks starter. any any help??? Printed Outboard won't start article.<br />Thanks from wanna go fishing wife...auntche
