please could you identify my motor. And maybe clear up a few of my queiries? It is a 40hp yamaha twin cylinder, single carb. There is a serial number stamped on the block 676-00. There are no other identifying marks/stamps. I would also like to know if i can charge the battery with this motor. I have found two green wires (see attached photo) but they dont seem to have any current in them> I have also found where i think the rectifier should be attached (please confirm if this is next to the fuel filter) I have attached the teleflex rev counter to the yellow wire and it seems to work ok? (see attached) is this correct? Also, is there something missing from the top of the carburettor (screw holes)? I would like to purchase a snap on ball joint connector for the advanced timing rod and also a manual for this motor as i need to know how to set the timing and other things i would like to do. This motor runs like a dream but misfires at top end and im sure there is more to gain from it as it is pretty fast on my 14ft shakespeare speedboat as it is, but i gotta get the utmost from it and its doing my head in. lol.
