Looks like it is still the same as the 1999 model, I was not sure on the newer motors so I did not reply earlier:facepalm:

Inducted, 99yam40 you have any problems finding top dead center this engine. I think I have now, but what a bear. I have 3 different piston stops, one with a dial indicater. Timimg all over the place, replacing the timer box on side of engine. You can beat me over my head for not buying a manual.

Dial indicator on piston top or even a small screwdriver and compare to marks on flywheel should show TDC on all cylinders just to prove key is OK.

My C40TLRX CDI had the wiper start to go bad and could not get the idle timing to go to 7 ATDC it wanted to run at 14 ATDC and idled very badly. WOT timing was fine. Finally replaced the CDI and things are fine.
You do realize the idle timing starts out advanced and then retards after warm up.

The manual shipped today. Have top dead center now. Timing pointer was broke off, and flywheel key laying on top of block.
