Thinking of buying 2010 Yamaha F6 4 stroke portable. This is newer version with smaller gearcase and built in fuel tank. I'm very concerned about how much vibration there may be with the single cylinder. I really want a new 2 stroke 2 cyl 6 hp with integral tank but I don't think it exists. Bought a Tohatsu single cyl 4 stroke (I think 2.5 hp) for another boat and the amount of vibration was simply unacceptable. Would appreciate any thought on vibration of the Yam 6, how much I should expect, etc. Thanks

Re: Yamaha 6 vibration

I expect that F6 4 stroke will be so smooth and quiet, you'll hardly notice it running. I run an old Tanaka 3HP, 2 stroke, air cooled on my canoe and it's sorta like having a weedeater or leafblower on the back at top speed, but it's dependable and cheap to run! These new 4 strokes are remarkably quiet and smooth.
