Hello gentleman...

I have gotten min fingers into a 60hp Yamaha in mint condition.
At somepoint it has been painted over, so i can?t read the model number and year of produktion. However i can find a serialnumber on the powerhead which says 453440. The engine has autolube, powertrim & tilt.
Anyone can tell me which year this engine was build. And furthermore any suggestions or thoughts about this model?
It has good and even compression & starts & idles nicely.

Thanks & regards..

Re: Yamaha 60F 1987 Autolube

Thanks for quick reply.

It seems that the engine is still running with the original autolube system.
How good is this system and is it safe to use or should it be disconnected?
And how can it be disconnected without disconnecting the temperatur alarm etc. (run the output of oilpump back to the tank?)
My manual does not give any clue how to do that.

Thanks again

Reability i guess?
I have never owned a Yamaha with autolube, only Johnson & Evinrudes and i remember that a lot of people think that the old VRO system should be disconnected.
So i only want to hear peoples oppinion about this lubrication system and wether it is "safe" to use..
