Hello,

I have got a problem whit my Yamaha 703.. it does not hold gaslever at one position. Does it mean that throttle cable is too short?

I have got a Yamaha 40 -90, it has power tilt but not power trim. I could get a trim engine for a fair price. Is it just a bolt on modification? Where could i find wiring diagrams for this modification? And I would like to get tilt knobs on one side of the engine..

Re: Yamaha 703 problem and a trim question

There is an adjustment on the control box to put more friction on the throttle to help the problem with the lever. To convert to power trim requires changing out the complete unit including the clamp brackets. Add a waterproof switch to the cowling and wire to existing circuit. A service manual will answer many of your questions and be very valuable in future maintence.

Yes, you are right. I can get a copy of a manual, but the shop has closed for today and it´s not open untill monday. Thank you very much for your reply.

There is a link at boatsetup.com to the late model service manuals. The trim wiring and control box info will be close enough to your model to give you the info you need.
