Finally starting to us my F-115, good motor so far. But a bit perplexed. No matter what the power setting the throttle keeps creaping back. Seem to remember an adjustment on the 704 for friction but this has none. Is it internal?
Also there is no trigger for shifting out of neutral which takes some getting use to. Have gone from rev. to fwd. a few time already. Didnt the 704 have a red handle trigger to avoid this? Thank you, fred

Re: yamaha 704 throttle friction

no lockout
it does have a detent.
one the older, pre 05, 704 bos's remove the 4 screws holding the trim cover on. remove the cover. on the lower aft end you will see a pencil sized post with a slot. thats the throttle friction adjustment. clockwise makes it tighter.
