I was wondering if anyone could give advice on the removal of the gearbox from the lower unit. I've heard that it can be difficult as my unit is old and corroded and possibly never been apart before. Someone said use a lot of heat.

I'd be really tempted to soak it to death with PB Blaster before any heat; and speaking of which - be careful with too much. You'll start melting things that you do not want to destroy. My $.02
