Yamaha 8hp rectifier

I have a 2006 Yamaha 8 hp two stroke manual start. The Yamaha website says a rectifier kit is available to allow a battery to be charged. However when I inquired with my local dealer they had never heard of this, and told me they thought Yamaha's website might be incorrect. Has anyone had any experience trying to get a rectifier kit for this motor? Any suggestions on where to look other than my local dealer? thanks.
