Hi folks does anyone know how much gear oil a 90hp yamaha 2003 takes? I am helping out a friend who's father is unfortunatly in the later stages of cancer and he doesn't have time to do the service himself before the season starts.

Just pump the Marine Lower Unit Gear Oil into the lower drain hole until it starts coming out of the top hole, replace top plug, remove pump and replace lower plug. Walmart has the pumps and Marine Lower Unit Gear Oil in quart bottle that the pump screws right into. It's an easy, 5 minute job. Good Luck!:)

Many thanks for that I was really more concerned around how much opil I should buy in the UK I can get 1L bottles or 250ml tubes I was going to buy a 1 L botle but didn't want to be short.

I'm not sure the exact amount, but the one quart bottle will fill the lower unit on my 90HP Yamaha. Good Luck!:)
