Every so often just radomly my outboard will flood. I can be fishing all day, the motor starts up fine. I'll go to start it up again not choking or anything, just turning the key because it should start up because it's still warm and it won't start no matter what I do. I just wait an hour or two and she starts right up. What is the problem?

Re: yamaha 90hp flooding

Check fuel pump for bad diaphragm causing fuel to be sucked directly into crank area and causing very rich condition. A new pump is about $45, very easy to replace with 2 screws. Otherwise could be a bad float needle valve causing overfilling of carb and rich condition. Probably just the pump. Good luck and let us know what you find!
