Re: Yamaha alarm?

same horn same tone.
the far left or all three oil bars on the tach will flash depending on why the oil alarm is triggered. that old a model I think the overheat indicate is in the speedometer.
also if the CDI sees low battery voltage it will trigger an audible as well.
but here again a full model number is helpful as in 1995 the 225 was made in several configurations with vastly different operating systems.

Re: Yamaha alarm?

Thanks for the reply rodbolt.I have a 225 TURT 62J SU 850137 V76-X.The factory digital gauges have been replaced with other yamaha gauges. The alarm is a constant beep it only goes off while idling .Does not happen all the time just every now and then. I turn off engine and let it set for 8 to 10 min's then turn key on, no more alarm.Alarm Does not go off at higher rpm's . Had a water pump installed in February.Could it be time for new thermostats? Thanks

Re: Yamaha alarm?

most likly overdue for pressure relief valve maint.
leading cause of low speed overheat.
but without the visual indicates its hard to say as low battery voltage will set an alarm as well.

rodbolt where would the pressure relief valve be located on the motor? I see the part in the manual but it does not show where it is at on the engine. thanks
