The engine is Yamaha CV40E 1995
I run the engine at a low/high throttle and the engine works fine.
If I place the engine at full throttle after a few minutes the waning buzzer sounds.
I chechk the water out flow from back of the engine and is stedy.
I am using a two-cycle oil grade.
The heating gauge shows as not over heating.
I turn off the engine.
I start the engine the buzzer still on but when I start running the boat at a low throttle the buzzer goes off.

I could run the engine all day but after a few minutes of using the full throttle the buzzer sounds.

Please any help?

Re: Yamaha CV40E

There's no difference in my buzzer when the engine is overheating or the oil level is low.

Check your oil tank in the engine, your engine might be using more oil than what the remote pump is sending to the main tank.

When your running at slow speeds your engine doesn't use that much oil and thats why the oil pump can keep up with the demand. When you run for a while at full throtle, the oil pump doesn't send that much oil thus not keeping up with the demand, the oil level goes down and makes your alarm go off. After you run your engine in low RPMs for a while, your giving the oil pump the chance of getting the oil level back up and turning off your alarm.

Check that and let us know...

I don't belive the CV motors had oil injection. You have a bad impellor or a restriction in the water circulation problem.

You might want to check the thermoswitch assembly. What type of oil are you mixing with the gas? What ratio?

Re: Yamaha CV40E

The ratio is 50:1 and the oil is a sold by a local boat repair shop.

Re: Yamaha CV40E

You have not told us the brand and type of oil. You need to be using a TCW-3 oil such as Yamalube 2M.

Re: Yamaha CV40E

I got the oil by the advice of a local boat repair shop. Probably that could be the problem. I will get a TCW-3 Yamalube 2M oil and give it a try. Thank you.
