Yamaha CV55EL

Just bought a boat with a CV55EL. The guy I bought it from told me it was "an early 90's" model Yamaha. I checked Yamaha's website but found nothing with that model name. I need to figure out:

A) what the fuel/oil ratio is
B) what year it is, and
C) where to find a good manual (preferrably service manual).

Any help you can give is appreciated :$

C = C Series
E = Manual Tilt with Electric Start
L = 20"
need more numbers

great motors .... the "hammer head" motors as we call them, last forever, they never say die .......

The last letter in the complete model number will be the code for the year model.

That's definitely good to hear!! What about the motor makes it so good?

Thanks everyone so far for helping out. I should have the boat/motor back tomorrow afternoon and I can double check the model number and get the serial number as well.

Is there a way to get more information off the serial number? If so it's 663-L-31973 :/

I just checked the motor and there's no additional letters or numbers on the model number.

well what makes it such a good motor, is that it is a yamaha ... ..... and well the older models were built very solid ......

I just called Yamaha and according to the guy I talked to the motor appears to be an 89 model. I'm going to double check the motor to see if I missed that 3rd letter designator on the model number to make sure.
