I'm planning to buy a 20' aluminum boat and am considering a Yamaha F150 4 stroke. This motor just came out but I was wondering if anyone has seen any information about it? I imagine it would be similar to their 115 hp motor and would like to know if owners of that motor are satisfied with it's performance?

Re: Yamaha F150 4 stroke

Hi,
I have read two short reviews of the Yamaha F150 4-strokes. They where in Swedish boat magazines so you will not understand a word unless You can Swedish... But the reviews tells us it is a 4 cylinder 4-stroke that is "very" quiet etc. Weight 212 kg. Some more info here: http://uk.yme.com/page.cfm?pageID=60171

Probably a good outboard but it is always a little dangerous to buy first Year of a new outboard model since it will be a risk there will be some problems not discovered Yet (=You or any other buyer may find some unknown problem with it - hope not...).

I have a Yamaha F115 (2003) and I'm pleased with it and I have no problem recomending a Yamaha 4-stroke based on my (limited) experince with Yamaha so far. Bt Yamaha F115 has been on the market since 2000 I belive so it is by now a well tested engine.
/Bo

Thanks Bo. I was thinking the same thing about it being the first model. Hopefully they will reuse some of the tried and tested technology they have in the F115. Thanks

Re: Our Yamaha Four stoke- rough at low rpms(2200) and at WOT I lost 4-600 rpm

We had our injection cleaned last summer and she ran great. We went to a different Marine for gas and since then, it's been runnig rough. At WOW, I'll look back and it seems that the engined is shaking and under 5300 RPM - Boat is 20Ft Mckee, 17 prop and half tank of gas. Could it be a clogged injector or full pump?
Thanks for you help

You should start your own thread. This one is dead. I wouldn't put my phone number on the net, either. It's open to the public and preserved there a long time. People collect them and sell them to people who then bother you.
