I have a F50TRLW and the crankcase is filling up. I saw oil dripping from the drain plug and checked the oil level and found it way over full. What is going on? Thanks everyone. Larry

Does it smell like gas?
Making oil
If so, leaking fuel pump, cold running motor(bad stat), too much idling or slow trolling, propped wrong are all possible causes

Re: Yamaha F50TLRW Crankcase Filling Up?

It may be too much idiling. I have been sick and unable to use my boat so once every month I start it up and let it run. I don't pull the fuel lines off and let it burn out the gas. I was told once that it would not burn everything out anyway. I was told to just crank it up and burn old fuel out of carbs and let fresh fuel into them. Does this sound like a good plan? Is once a month enough to keep carbs in good shape? The only additive I use is Ringfree. Thanks for the help. Larry

If when you go to start it you can pump the primer bulb quite a few times before it becomes firm it means that much fuel has evaporated out of carbs.
If you start it more often than 1 a month it probably will not take that much fuel to refill, depends on the temp and where it is stored.
I try to run my motor more often, but I like running it on the water instead of in drive way
I would have a fuel stabilizer in it also for long term storage.
I am a believer in running often instead of draining or running out of fuel

Thanks 99yam40, I'm going to change the oil and then idle it for shorter periods and more often and see if that helps. I appreciate you helping me out. Larry
