In 2002 Yamaha distributed an F100 and F80 in Canada, now they have replaced these with the F75 and F90.
My question is what do I have to do to unleash the 10hp from my current F90? Is it a carb kit, CDI Box, other? The displacement, compression, crank, Rods, Pistons, and gear ratio's are the same (F90-F100), what are the differences that I'm missing?

Any info appreciated. ;)

rodbolt:
Are you suggesting that this is the only difference; "decals"? Are you surmising this, or can you confirm this to be 100% fact?
If 100hp is some kind of "bolt-on" away, I wanna play! As for re-decaling, ssssh, dont want anyone to know we really got 100 ponies under the cowl!

Re: Yamaha F90 vs F100

remember, manufacturers are not required to "actually have" the exact hp on the hood...only within a certain percentage, some say 10%, while ive seen others say 20%

when merc used to make inline 6 outboards, they had a 150hp, but that same year they also made a 150 v6(new model) and didnt want competition among their own models, so they changed the decals on the inline 6 150hp to read 140hp....

get where im going...

your motor will rarley ever , on its finest day, make the advertised hp it says......

listen to rodbolt, if im correct, he is a yamaha certified tech...

m ikey
