Yamaha flip questions

I am looking to flip out my yems for something that will allow me to at least get parts of something goes wrong... Are there other motors that are compatible with the Yamaha lower unit? Does it have to be a complete flip of both? Any thoughts or advice are greatly appreciated

Ayuh,..... A pulleys to prop swap would be the way to go,....
Merc or Volvo SM would be easiest, as the hole in the transom is the same,.....
Find a rotten boat with the driveline you want, then scrap it out for the driveline,....
