The plug in back of gauge has four pins I took of cover on motor and the trim sender is not plugged into anything. The cable that comes from gauge has only the four pin. There is no place to plug into cable or at gauge. It has a trim gauge on it is flashing all bars. Is this the wrong gauge is there anything I can do.

Have you removed the rubber plug on the right side of the gauge? Another connector perhaps?? Are all of the wires in the picture attached to something? For tach and trim the gauge would need +12, gnd, tach and trim inputs. I see six or seven wires in that harness which are plenty for the functions you say the gauge has. You apparently need to the harness that runs from the sender connector to the main harness going to the helm. Your Yamaha dealer can help you with what you need.
