I have a 2 -10- 15 amp battery charger, and a yamaha generator that puts out 10 amps 12 v should i use the 12 v 10 amp charger from the genset? or plug in my battery digital charger? I dont know my ac chargers amp draw but my genset is max 600 watts and seems to be fine with the AC charger.

Re: yamaha generator

It all depends on how regulated the generator output is. However, if you use your battery charger, the lower the setting you use, the longer you will need to run the generator. I'd use the 10A or 15A setting on your charger. It's smart so it won't hurt the battery and your generator shouldn't mind either. If it struggles at the 15A setting, choose the 10.

Hey thanks Silvertip
I agree with what you say and plan to use the smartcharger. Honda says it only takes 380 watts for a Battery charger to charge 15 amps @ 12v... nice!
