Ok, I've got a 1993 Yamaha 225TXRR that was taken off of my boat and stored for about 2 yrs on an engine stand. I drained the fuel (I thought completely) and have since tried to wake the dead. I wasn't getting fuel to the carbs and decided to remove and clean them...what a mess. The jackass that came up with ethanol should be shot on sight! There was oxidation and a couple of needle valves stuck, the biggest problem is that I have somehow developed a restriction in the lower carb fuel barb (where the fuel comes in from the pump) into the body of the carb. Does anyone have any idea how to remove that barb...or any ideas what could have it jammed up so completely....I get very very little air thru there....tried blowing it thru with the compressor to no avail.

have you tried soaking it in carb cleaner or an ultrasonic cleaner?

Re: Yamaha (Nikki) Carb problems

ultrasonic cleaner is worth a try
I wonder if that is a filter of some kind on the inlet
Seems the lower carb always end up with what is left in the lines and dries up leaving lots of residue
Maybe Rodbolt17 will chime in on the other forum
