Yamaha OX66 200 Tilt just died

I've checked all the tilt trim posts here that I could find. I just took the shrink off my motor, dropped a battery in, tilted the motor up 3/4 of the way, 15 minutes later tilt it down, go to tilt it all the way and nothing. . . dead, no sound no nothing. The tilt trim won't work at the throttle or the motor. It's like a fuse blew or something. It never failed while I was using it. When I went back to it it wouldn't work. It's a 2003 yam 200 OX66, that wasn't put into service until 2004, saw about 100 hours last year. Any help please?, I was hoping to pull of a test and tune this weekend!
Thank you!

None that I noticed, the horn and the radio still worked and I checked all the fuses in the block. I haven't tried starting it yet, going to do that this morning.

Ok, now I would classify it as intermittent. First thing this morning, try it for grins, it works up and down, when it's all the way down it quits again. waited 10 mins, works and quits again. Keeps dying when it's down I have to see what's under there. There is some kind of limit switch mounted on a rail forward of the motor. I had moved that then it worked. Dunno at this point!

that switch on the tube is just just a sender. has no limit function
sounds like a diagnostic session is in order, starting with insureing the battery cable connections are clean and tight. that system will draw over 30 amps on occasion. if its not there the solinoid may drop out.

I just sanded clean both the posts and the terminals, tweaked them back down tight with pliers. It worked, great up, down, up down, figured I had a lousy connection. Ok let's try the failure mode, all the way down, dies again. I wish I had my fluke meter with me, I didn't store my boat at my house.

does the relay still click when the system fails< does it work with the pan mounted switch? without a meter there is not much to test for.

Roger. I just got off the phone with the dealer and in the infinite wisdom of a first year "real boat" owner I hadn't realized that you needed BOTH batteries in even though you select a single battery with the battery switch. I wouldn't have thought it would have made a difference. I left the second one out so I could get to the fuel filter and that's the one with more than one (3) negative wires and some kind of small gauge wire in the positive. I dropped the second battery in and it works fine! Go figure, what a dope. . . For the record, it was a dead stop and both switches, not a sound. Thanks for your time and attentiveness rodbolt. A rare quality on internet message boards. Come on ice out, let's chase some salmon!
