I have a 1997 2 stroke yamaha pro-v 150 that had a catastrophic failure on the water friday. It was a cold morning, but it started up just fine. let it warm up for a couple of 5 minutes and took off across the lake. I was running 3/4 throttle for about 3 miles, I heard a pitch change in the motor, and it felt like it lost some power. I shut it down, checked that it had oil in the tank, it didn't seem hot, and I had no warning lights or buzzers. I started it back up and let it idle for a minute and continued on for about 30 seconds, until it sounded like someone was dropping pots and pans in the back of the boat. Any idea what happened?

more importantly what are my best options ? new powerhead? used motor?
