Yes, model and serial # should work.
This site sells impellers, I-boats, If this is your first impeller change you-tube explains it very well.
To be safe, you could test the stat to see what temp it opens.
There may be a plate around where the throttle and shifter cable come into the motor.

Thanks tommarvin for the info again. My outboard is a 87 model. I also got a leak on my 2 cycle reservoir on the outboard on the cap.when towing or storing, it leaks out the cap. Any suggestions? Thanks

Will Teflon tape on the threads stop the leak?
If the cap is broken or cracked get another cap plastic or metel anything that will stop that annoying leak .
You have to maintain the oil injection, keep it clean, and replace the filter so your motor doesn't burn up.

Wow - you really have to be careful about the wrong advice that you provide.

First of all, never, ever use Teflon tape on a fuel, oil or hydraulic system - if a small piece breaks off it can spell disaster. Always use Teflon sealant, and it's only used on tapered pipe threads, which an oil tank cap certainly is not.

Second, you can't just throw any cap on the engine tank - the cap has the oil level sensor integrated into it

yep, will need to replace with new.

some have tried using plastic/nylon zip ties pulled tight around the cap to slow down the leak, but replacement is needed to solve the problem
