Continuing with my line of clueless newbie questions..

I have a 1999 SX200TXRX - I have a digital multi-meter that has the capability to measure RPM (its built for automotive testing) but doesn't use the typical inductive clamp-on connection.

Where can I attach a test probe on the engine to pick up the RPM? Can I simply insert one side of the probe into the connector between the CDI and one of the ignition coil wires, with the other side grounded on the motor?

-- Tom
