Hey Fellows
I am currently installing a Garmon ghp 10 autopilot unit to my boat. I need to connect to the ground and tach wire on each motor. I need help locating the wires. I can splice into the back of the tach in the dash for my main motor but not sure which wire it is. My main motor is a 1992 pro v 150. The tach is digital with the trim indicator bar on the side. Secondly my kicker motor is a 1994 t 9.9 4 stroke. It has no tach but was told that the tach wire could be in the control/ignition box. If it is that would save me from running a wire all the way back to the engine. To summarize I need to know which wire in the back of the tach to plice into and what wire in the control box for the 9.9.
Thanks

Re: Yamaha Tach wires

at the main engine tach the dark green is the tach signal and black is the ground, use the adapter leads from yamaha and its plug and play.
on the T motor if a 703 sidemount box was used look for a yellow, red, black and green tag line hanging from the lower aft end of the box. dark green and black is tach signal and ground.
post the T motor model number and I can disscuss it but they made many versions and I have no clue which one you have or what control box is being used.

Re: Yamaha Tach wires

t9.9ELRS.
high thrust, electric start 20" shaft remote control and its a 1994 model.
you should have a 703 sidemount box if it was rigged with yamaha stuff.
if not then at the kicker keyswitch you should see the same dark green wire.
depends on what it was rigged with.
about now a picture would be worth 1000 words.
