Yamaha Throttle control

I have a 90hp 2stroke with a 704 control. Is there an adjustment to keep the throttle from backing off when cruseing? The manual that came with the control indicates the adjustment is under the control cover, but I don't see anything that will tighten it up. Nothing in the engine repair manual.<br />Ed

depends on the year of the 704, the 05 and up units its a 1/4" dia rod with a slot on the aft lower edge, the 04 and earlier boses ya have to remove the plastic cover and its in the center lower aft part. but its still a rod with a slot. screw it CW to increase friction.

Thanks rodbolt. Its a 2004 unit, I will look again for the adjuster.<br />Ed
