yamaha tilt and trim will not raise

hi i have a 1994 90 hp yamaha went for a ride and trimmed up worked fine, went to trim up a second time it will not do anything. motor will run when i press the button to lower but will not do anything when i try to raise

you have two circuits, one is trim control, at the trim relays you will have a blue 10 Ga and a blue 18Ga wirethe down relay is the same only with green wires.
jumper ,one at a time, the small blue and green control wires to a 12v source.
if it works you have a control problem, next the simple test is to swap the location of the 10 Ga trim motor wires and see if the problem changes.
do a foruim search on Trim Relay testing. if ya cant find it when I get some time I can repost it.dou you have a multi meter ?

thanks a bunch for the info, i did what you said and found that the switch had gone bad.replaced the switch works great. thanks again

Hello,
I'm having the same problem, just found it out today, although my up trim will work after pressing switch a few times. I hear the clicking on the engine when using either trim on throttle or on motor so don't think its a switch problem. After a few presses, it works until switch is released. down works normally.
Could this be relay related, intermittently?
Would love help on this please!
