So yesterday went down to the river to try and catch some rock and when I got to the ramp, my motor wouldn't raise to disengage the lock. The motor was turning but nothing. I released the pressure on the fluid and tightened the screw back up. The motor raised (slowly) and then went down with no problem. Fished all day and came back and raised motor, locked it and went home. Got home and was able to raise it off the lock and lower it for flushing. This is the second time this has happened. It's a 2004 Yamaha OX66 200 hp. I know I am living on borrowed time and want this corrected so I am not left stranded or disappointed. Low on fluid, relays, trim motor? Any ideas? Thanks.

ist things I would do when having T&T problems would be check fluid level.
if motor is running the relay and motor seem to work
how did you release pressure?

I used the pressure release screw on the port side of motor. I did check fluid and it was low so I topped it off, bled it, topped it off again and WHALA works like a champ. I think I am going to order the rebuild kit and give it a whirl. Just watched a video on how to do it and I think I am capable.......

I do not think they sell rebuild kits, but I could be wrong.
having the proper tools to do the job is one thing, the other is a place to keep it very clean when working on systems like that

Yeah, it's not really a rebuild, just replacing all o-rings etc. Having issues again. Taking it off Tuesday and shipping it out for repair. For $400, I get a full rebuild, new paint and a 2 year warranty. Says quick turnaround also.
