Hi guys, I have a starting problem with my 1996 Yamaha V-Pro 115, it run awesome for the last 2 years (bought it used) just had a mechanic change the throttle cable and change gear fluid. Suddenly the engine would not start as per prior starting mode. If I spray fuel spray into both carbs, it starts right up, then runs fine. But when it cools down, it wont start for nothing!
It cranks...and cranks...and cranks....and nothing!
It is driving me crazy! I have to admit that by changing the throttle cable we also had to play with the idle screw on the carbs, it seemed that the change in cable also changed slightly the idle rpm (to a higher position)
I live in Miami, Florida, and the boat only sat for two months before this problem, the fuel filter/water separator looks clean. But as I said before, once started and warmed up, it will run and idle fine.
What should I do then? Try starting it without choke? I would like to not plug any choke hole if possible.
It is not electrical, fuel gets to the engine, etc...as I said, when started it will run just fine, it just takes a little longer to warm up enough to hold the idle rpm's.
I have read in another post that it might be the choke butterfly hole, which are large, and apparently sometimes when used inject to much air in the mist, thus complicating the start up process.
My start up procedure (as it as always been since I bought the engine, and worked just fine 'till this problem showed up) is: Turn key, position the throttle lever in mid position, squeeze the fuel pump, push the key to activate the choke and turn. It used to start up at the second or max at the 3rd time, and engine gets used frequently, or at least runned to prevent gelling of gasoline and proper maintenance.
Any expert resolution please?
Thank you all in advance,
