How do you change oil?

Besides oil (approx. 4 qts.) and filter, you will need to buy an oil extractor kit.
1.) Run ski on hose for approx. 5 min to warm & circulate oil.
2.) Lower the nose of the ski down all the way if on a trailer. You could also jack up the left side of the ski some to force more oil to the right front of the engine.
3.) Remove the dipstick & insert siphon hose from extractor kit.
4.) Pump several times until oil begins draining. Do not continue to pump.
5.) When oil stops draining, approx. 3-3.5 qts. Remove and change the oil filter. Make sure the old oil filter gasket comes off w/ the old filter. Use plenty of oil absorbent rags under the filter.
6.) Wet the new oil filter gasket w/ some oil before installing.
7.) Level the ski back to normal and replace the EXACT amount of oil you removed. Start and run a few minutes. Shutdown and recheck level. That should about cover it for the Yamaha 1.8 liter motor. There should be a You tube video as well. Good luck !!!

Rooster, thank you very much, just what I needed. Ski belongs to daughter.
