On my 1994 Yamaha 225TXRS,2-stroke V-6, I know that either one of the two thermal sensors,or the low oil float switch can activate the warning circuit and make the motor run in "safe-mode" and not exceed 2000 RPMs... And normally when this happens, the sound device in the control lever box will sound off as well. Now my question is this ... Is there ANY other safety device or component on the motor that can trigger this "safe-mode" ,making the motor run the same way,but WITHOUT sounding the audible alarm ??? It happened once recently, but by the time I was able to work on it the next day, everything had reset, and I couldn't determine what caused it to happen. I did notice however, that the "pee-hole" was clogged-up at the time, and that had stopped the flow of cooling water thru the little "radiator" plate behind the Regulator/Rectifier,and that component may have overheated a little,But that being part of the charging system,I wouldn't think that would trigger the warning system (?)...Any suggestions ?
