Hello all,

I have a realy weird problem with my Yamaha. I don't know the exact details of the motor as I bought it second hand several years ago but it is a Yamaha 115HP V4.... I bought it in 93 and at that stage it was a couple of year old. I can post the serial number if that helps but for my issue it may be irrelevant anyway.

The problem it has is that it will not start unless I follow a specific sequence...
I must first TRY to start (ie turn it over a few times) then I need to disconnect all wires from the (CD?) module .. these are marked coil1...coil4, ground, supply etc (I think 16 wires all up from memory). I then reconnect them all and it will them start and run beautifully for the day. I can stop & start whenever I feel like it. If however I don't start it for more than 15hrs I must go through the sequence again.

A second general question I have is that I have NOT run the motor now for about 7 years ... the wife became pregnant with our first child, kids were too young etc etc ... we are now going to start using it again. I will take it in for a service before heading out on the water but I would like to run it myself first. I was going to put a little 2 stroke oil directly into each pot and of course drain all the old fuel ...but what else should I do before turning it over after such a long period?

Thanks in advance for any replies coming ...
