OK heres the scoope, I want to repaint my boats aluminum insides on my 17 foot Starcraft. Some of the area the original paint is rubbed off exposing bare aluminum. My plan is to prime the bare metel and then paint the entire area with a good exterier metal paint?

How does this sound? I know there is some type of special primer for bare aluminum. I know to use that. I guess I'm a little confused on what type of paint to use to paint the area. I need it blue in color and a good strong bond thats about all I know.

And oh yea, I want a paint I can buy at like lows or home depot.

Any thoughts?

Re: Yeah, another painting question.

The primer you need is zinc chromate - it is not cheap. You wanna' buy something from Lowe's or Home Cheapo then use Rust-Oleum. They make a commercial grade but I'm thinking your colors might be limited. The prep is your most important step, don't take any short cuts there. You will need to let the primer dry for a minimum of 24 hours to achieve a strong bond - no cheating there either. It will dry in an hour or so, but won't be bonded. Big difference in the two.
