Hi! I just bought a used boat with a Mercury 700 70 hp motor. Was wondering if anyone could tell me what year it is? Serial # is 6026572. I also would like to know what the fuel mixture should be on this. Thank you.

it has a two tone blue and silver sticker that goes arround it and it does say mercury 700 when it shjould say 70 are you shure about the mixture on the gas and the oil because ive never owned a boat before and i cant afford to fix it if it bolows up.

Look at the chart attached. If your motor is not oil injected (You mix the oil/fuel) it is definately 50:1 (I have same age motor).
http://www.myfishingpictures.com/img/003654.jpg
All of these motors are 50:1.., But feel free to get more opinions. I will not be offended :D
That little chart is very handy for mixing small qtys of fuel, so print it out...
If it's your first Merc...Take the time to search through this 1st class site (No I'm not a part owner) and get some "Newbie" advice.
There are some rules of thumb, like NEVER use stale fuel.. Change water impeller regularly.. and search through the posts and this site.
www.outboardrepairs.com

Good luck ;)
