YEAR AND HP for chev/gm v-8

I have a chev/gm marine engine in my 1968 Tollycraft 24 ft cruiser. The engine model # is 990211 and the serial #is
WO3269. I would appreciate knowing the year of the motor and also the horsepower. Any help to find this out??

Ayuh,.... Who's model number,..?? Who's serial number,..?? Those ain't Chevy/GM numbers...

Oddly enough I found that Model number (sort of) on OMCs list . . . http://shop.evinrude.com/media/document/ModelNumberReference.pdf

It was a 225 horse rating. Not sure if that is it or not as I couldn't verify serial number ranges, and all of these have a one letter designation behind it.

Thanks to all for your help. The numbers are on the engine itself, so don't know shy they are not right. It is an PMC installation.

Looks like'73' - '76 for that model with a 225 rating at the Crank. They rate at the prop today so it would be equal to around a 195 now.
