I was told (but doubt) that my 150 yamaha which states being built in July of 04 (07/04) is actually considered to be a 2005 model. Is this correct. I need to know since I am wiring up a new set of digital guages and they changed some things between 04 and 05 in terms of how these get wired up, things like the plugs at the motor. I have on the harness one plug at the motor end that has 4 ends but all appear to have small rubber plugs in them. Does this mean I don't use that plug? I don't appear to have a plug coming from the motor to match up to it anyway.

I also was concerned since the plugs that connect at the motor on this same harness have two pink and then two wires that do not match, plug to plug. Is this normal?

What is the full model number of your motor. It's located on the motor bracket.
If it ends in the letter "C", it's a 2004. A "D" would be a 2005.

go by your dealer, look at the o5 or 06 marine tech guide.
all your questions willbe answered.
but I think in 05 there were like 6 different 150 HP models avalible and we have no clue what yours is.
