Hi - if you could help me on this I would appreciate it. I talked to two mechanics, searched all the tables, and posted the question on another site with no luck. My merc's serial # is 0C132869 it's a 35 hp, two cylinder (I think). I was hoping to confirm the year, fuel/oil mixture, and that I use 2 cycle oil for it. Please, any information would be much appreciated and thank you....

Re: Year of Merc 35 - not found on tables

Thanks, looks like a C. Had one answer for a serial # with the same first 4 digits and the last three digits being off by about 125 stating that it's a 1990 35 hp..... This would make more sense as in 1995 were they oil injected??

Also, if it is a 1990, can you please confirm that 87 octane gas and 2 cycle marine oil at 50:1 will work best??

Thanks again, Erik.

I thought it was a 2 stroke based on the year. Stupid question but how do you tell if it's a two stroke vs 4 stroke ??
